01 Overview

   In order to uphold the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the Central Economic Work Conference, and further implement the requirements of the Guiding Opinions on Building an International Consumer Center City and the Opinions of the State Council on Further Unleashing Consumption Potential and Promoting Continuous Consumption Recovery, the 2nd Chongqing International Consumer Products Expo and Meeting Bashu - International Integrated Procurement Fair (the Expo) is planned to be held. It will seize opportunities brought by the building of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and leverage Chongqing's geographical advantage as the intersection of the Belt and Road and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, so as to shape Chongqing into a new highland for inland opening-up and an international consumer center city under the new development pattern of domestic-international dual circulation. The first Expo was successfully held from October 27 to 29, 2023 in the CQ International Convention & Exhibition Center. It brought together a large number of exhibitors, including about 200 foreign enterprises from over 20 countries, such as Russia, Iran, Belgium, Kenya, Uruguay, Myanmar, and Pakistan. Many domestic companies also participated in this Expo, including those from nearly 10 sister provinces and cities of Chongqing, such as Harbin, Yinchuan, Ningbo, and Guang'an, as well as those from Nan'an, Fengjie, Rongchang and other local districts and counties of Chongqing. They exhibited and sold more than 10,000 types of products. The Expo attracted nearly 30,000 visitors, registering an on-site transaction volume of around RMB 10 million and a total contract value of RMB 873 million.

   The second Expo is scheduled to be held from September 20 to 22, 2024 in the CQ International Convention & Exhibition Center. It will continue to focus on expanding and improving consumption, gathering international consumer brands, promoting economic and trade cooperation, and stimulating consumer product sales, aiming to become an important platform that promotes high-level opening-up, facilitates domestic-international dual circulation, drives consumption transformation and upgrading, and leads consumption trends.

  The event focuses on driving consumption and is characterized by the gathering of brands. With quality consumption as an advantage, it will organize multiple international procurement fairs and special promotional conferences to establish a platform for international trade exhibitions, discussions, exchanges, and cooperation centered on consumer goods. The platform will facilitate the entry of stores, brands, and leading companies into Chongqing and actively contribute to the development of a global consumption resource hub incorporating diverse elements.

Chengdu-Chongqing Cooperation Bridge

   The "Meeting Bashu - International Integrated Procurement Fair" will be held simultaneously, aiming to attract more international institutions and brands through government guidance, policy support, and market operations and continuously promote "Chengdu Chongqing cooperation".

Consumer Upgrading Vanguard

  Aiming at the development trends of the new consumption era, the event will organize various activities to promote new consumption, such as international cultural exchanges and fashion launches. These activities will help disseminate international lifestyles and trends while using new consumption as a guide to drive new supply. By enhancing the effective supply level of goods and services, these activities will contribute to the high-quality development of the economy.

06 Exhibition Area Planning

   Imported goods exhibition area: This area will showcase famous, high-quality, and characteristic products and handicrafts from ASEAN countries, RCEP member countries, and countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.

   Regional New Consumption Exhibition Area: all provinces, cities and districts have organized local high-quality enterprises, well-known brands, and landmark brand-name and quality products to create new consumption scenes and new models for carrying out economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchanges and market expansion.

   High-end food exhibition area: This area will showcase imported foods, packaged foods, seasonings, edible oils, dairy products, health supplements, meat products, organic foods, snacks, fruits, and vegetables.

  Beverages exhibition area: This area will showcase baijiu, beer, wine, tea, tea drinks, tea sets, coffee, trendy beverages, mineral water, and functional drinks.

   High-quality fashion lifestyle products exhibition area: This area will showcase watches, jewelry, beauty and hair care products, clothing, suitcases and bags, personal care items, sports equipment, smart home devices, and smart wearable devices.

  Service consumption exhibition area: This area will showcase new energy vehicles, high-end branded cars, recreational vehicles, medical and healthcare services, tourism packages, UAVs, and outdoor equipment.

  Prepared food exhibition area: This area will showcase ready-to-cook foods, convenience foods, frozen foods, self-heating meals, and ready-to-eat foods.
